7 Days of Prayer & Fasting is an invitation to go deeper with Jesus. Each morning, we will seek God together and ask Him to prepare our hearts for what He wants to do in our lives and through our church.
When deciding how to fast, we encourage you to seek God in prayer and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading. In Scripture, fasting involves abstaining from food for a spiritual purpose. We also understand that health needs can impact what each person is able to do. Please choose a fast that is healthy and safe for you.
Complete Fast: A complete fast is a set time to drink only liquids, typically water, with light juices as needed.
Selective Fast: A selective fast removes certain foods from your diet. One example is the Daniel Fast, based on Daniel 1 and Daniel 10, which focuses on eating only simple foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and water.
Partial Fast: A partial fast sets aside a portion of the day to abstain from food. This could follow specific hours, such as 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or take place from sunup to sundown.
Along with your fast, prayerfully consider removing anything that may be taking your attention or pulling your focus away from God. This could include phone time, television, social media, video games, or other distractions.
Matthew 6:16-18, Matthew 9:14-15, Nehemiah 9:1-3, Acts 27:33-37
