. . . What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible is inspired by God and is therefore without error or contradiction, and is the sole authority for faith and practice. All our beliefs come from the Bible.
(2 Timothy 3:15-16; 2 Peter 3:15-16; John 17:17)

God
He is not only the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, but He is the Heavenly Father who loves each person.
(John 1:1-2, John 4:24, John 5:18 and John 10:30)

Jesus Christ
He is the one and only Lord and Savior. He died for everyone on the cross, in our place, to reconcile us to God. He arose from the tomb and gave everyone the hope of eternal life.
(Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; Hebrews 4:14-15; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4)

Holy Spirit
He is God and He works in Christians to produce the fruit of Godly character.
(2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-15; Ephesians 1:13; Romans 8:9)

Salvation
We are all sinners saved by the grace of a loving God. There is no way a person can earn salvation, it's free! Like any gift, it has to be received. A person can receive forgiveness and new life if they will:
  • Believe in Jesus Christ(John 3:36)
  • Confess that belief in Christ (Romans 10:9)
  • Trust that Jesus can give eternal life (John 12:36)
  • Repent and turn from sin (Acts 17:30)
  • Commit to living in Obedience with God's commands (I John 4:6)
  • Honor God through Baptism by immersion into Christ (Acts 2:38)
The Church
The Church of Jesus Christ is not limited to any one institution or denomination; it consists of all who have placed their trust in Jesus Christ to provide redemption for their sins. LifePoint therefore is but one part of the total Church.

LifePoint is an autonomous and independent church seeking to restore the pattern of the New Testament Church.

(1 Corinthians 12:12-17; Ephesians 4:4-6)

The Lord's Supper
We believe that communion, the Lord's Supper, should be observed during the regular meeting time for LifePoint. During these services a special time should be set aside to honor the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us by offering Himself to be sacrifice.
