Playing Music on the Soundbooth PC

Most of the time you are going to use Windows Media Player (WMP) to playback audio files that you downloaded or ripped from a CD. However it is also possible to play music using your web browser if you have located the content online. Browsers launch the a player (sometimes WMP) to play their files over the Internet.

Playing Local Music Files Located on the PC.
There should be an icon in the Quick Launch area of the Start Bar for WMP. Click the icon once to launch it. Now your biggest challenge is to find the files you wish to play. WMP has a library, but people don't always add the music files they copy onto the Sound Booth PC to the library. Its a good idea to do this. But please remember if you rip CD's, please make sure you rip them with the Artist, Track, and Title information so that WMP can locate the CD data online and give you a nice list of titles to read.

Hopefully all you will need to do is click on Artist, then drag the title from the list displayed to the Playlist Area, then click the big PLAY button at the bottom of the window.

Un-Mute the Speakers :-)
When you play a music file on the PC using Windows Media Player, the Speaker Output will have to be un-MUTED. I know that probably sounds obvious but its easy to forget this after you have previously muted the volume during a recording session (remember, this is how we prevent signal loopbacks into the Mixer)

Don't mess with Recording settings for playing music
However, it is never necessary to change anything on the Recording Control application. You can launch the Volume control by clicking the new shortcut called "Volume Control", or, double click on the speaker icon in the system tray to open the Volume Control application. Locate the checkbox under the Volume Control column and un-check it.
